Description Lukáš Zaoral 2023-11-27 08:42:57 UTC
Please branch and build ghc-Diff in epel8.

If you do not wish to maintain ghc-Diff in epel8,
or do not think you will be able to do this in a timely manner,
I would be happy to be a co-maintainer of the package (FAS lzaoral);
please add me through https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/ghc-Diff/adduser

It should be trivial because `git switch rawhide && fedpkg --release epel8 mockbuild` finished successfully on my machine.

Comment 1 Jens Petersen 2023-11-27 10:12:28 UTC
I backported 0.3.4 from f28 era - I hope that works for you.

Comment 2 Jens Petersen 2023-11-27 10:13:35 UTC
Btw what do you plan/need it for? :)

Comment 3 Fedora Update System 2023-11-27 10:36:03 UTC
FEDORA-EPEL-2023-5fa898c440 has been submitted as an update to Fedora EPEL 8. https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-EPEL-2023-5fa898c440

Comment 4 Lukáš Zaoral 2023-11-27 11:20:01 UTC
Thank you, Jens! That was blazingly fast!

ghc-Diff is a build dependency for newer releases of ShellCheck and we need it for our custom build of ShellCheck 0.8.0 for EPEL 8 with a statically linked binary for the Red Hat's instance of OpenScanHub.

Comment 5 Jens Petersen 2023-11-27 11:50:33 UTC
Okay cool, nice to know

At least for ShellCheck-0.8 Diff-0.3 seems new enough :-)

Comment 6 Fedora Update System 2023-11-28 02:43:36 UTC
FEDORA-EPEL-2023-5fa898c440 has been pushed to the Fedora EPEL 8 stable repository.
If problem still persists, please make note of it in this bug report.
