If you would like to get updates for this issue, or to participate in it, you may do so at Red Hat Issue Tracker .
Red Hat Satellite engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on Satellite to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs will be migrated starting at the end of May. If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/SAT-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description Jayant Bhatia 2023-12-11 20:31:39 UTC
Description of problem:

The Satellite WebUI -> Infrastructure -> Capsules -> Click on Capsule_Name -> Content tab reflects incorrect data.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): Satellite version 6.15.0

How reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:

1. Deploy a Satellite and an external Capsule server.

2. Navigate to Satellite WebUI -> Content -> Red Hat Repositories and enable below repositories.
- rhel-8-for-x86_64-appstream-rpms
- rhel-8-for-x86_64-baseos-rpms
- rhel-9-for-x86_64-appstream-rpms
- rhel-9-for-x86_64-baseos-rpms
- rhel-7-server-satellite-client-6-rpms
- satellite-client-6-for-rhel-8-x86_64-rpms
- satellite-client-6-for-rhel-9-x86_64-rpms

3. Navigate to Satellite WebUI -> Infrastructure -> Capsules -> Click on Edit against external Capsule server -> Lifecycle Environments and add 'Library' lifecycle environment.

4. Navigate to Satellite WebUI -> Sync Status and synchronize below repositories.

- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 for x86_64 - AppStream RPMs 8
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux 8 for x86_64 - BaseOS RPMs 8
- Red Hat Satellite Client 6 for RHEL 8 x86_64 RPMs

5. Navigate to Satellite WebUI -> Content -> Lifecycle -> Content Views and create a new content view (say 'cv'). Add the 3 RHEL-8 repositories synchronized above in Step-4. Publish a new version of cv to Library lifecycle environment.

6. Navigate to Satellite WebUI -> Infrastructure -> Capsules -> Click on the name of external Capsule server -> Content -> Expand Library (by clicking on arrow button near it). Then also expand 'Default Organization View' and 'cv'.

Actual results: The 'Packages' and 'Additional Content' column for all repositories listed within 'Default Organization View' and 'cv' shows N/A

Expected results: The 'Packages' and 'Additional Content' column for all repositories listed within 'Default Organization View' and 'cv' should reflect the actual package count present in the synchronized repositories.
