1. Please describe the problem: USB hardware of SBC and possible some other components can't get probed. 2. What is the Version-Release number of the kernel: 6.5.11-300.fc39.aarch64 3. Did it work previously in Fedora? If so, what kernel version did the issue *first* appear? Old kernels are available for download at https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/packageinfo?packageID=8 : No, it never worked. Tried Fedora IoT 35 with an older kernel didn't work either. Same kernel error messages.USB ports work on U-Boot console stage and on other distros like OpenWRT or Armbian. Related kernel drivers are all upstreamed. There is no harware fault. 4. Can you reproduce this issue? If so, please provide the steps to reproduce the issue below: After a fresh install of Fedora CoreOS(fcos) to a uSD card and the boot up, same messages displaye on serial console. USB devices don't work. 5. Does this problem occur with the latest Rawhide kernel? To install the Rawhide kernel, run ``sudo dnf install fedora-repos-rawhide`` followed by ``sudo dnf update --enablerepo=rawhide kernel``: I didn't try newer kernels. 6. Are you running any modules that not shipped with directly Fedora's kernel?: No. Vanilla install. 7. Please attach the kernel logs. You can get the complete kernel log for a boot with ``journalctl --no-hostname -k > dmesg.txt``. If the issue occurred on a previous boot, use the journalctl ``-b`` flag. Logs doesn't fit here. Reproducible: Always

so a few things here: 1) please only post relevant bits of the dmesg, the one you post has multiple kernel boots, it makes things very hard to read 2) Can you provide the output of /sys/kernel/debug/devices_deferred 3) can you try with a non ostree Fedora minimal image (https://dowload.fedoraproject.org/pub/fedora-secondary/releases/39/Spins/aarch64/images/Fedora-Minimal-39-1.5.aarch64.raw.xz)
1) Sorry for the inconvenience. I messed things up while trying to fit logs in a single post. 2) core@orangepipc2:~$ sudo cat /sys/kernel/debug/devices_deferred 1c1b000.usb platform: supplier 1c19400.phy not ready 1f02000.ir platform: wait for supplier /soc/pinctrl@1f02c00/r-ir-rx-pin 1c1c000.usb platform: supplier 1c19400.phy not ready 1c1d000.usb platform: supplier 1c19400.phy not ready 1c1b400.usb platform: supplier 1c19400.phy not ready leds 1c19400.phy platform: supplier usb0-vbus not ready cpufreq-dt gpio-keys 1c1a400.usb platform: supplier 1c19400.phy not ready 1c19000.usb platform: supplier 1c19400.phy not ready 1c1c400.usb platform: supplier 1c19400.phy not ready 1c1a000.usb platform: supplier 1c19400.phy not ready usb0-vbus reg-fixed-voltage: can't get GPIO 1f02400.i2c platform: wait for supplier /soc/pinctrl@1f02c00/r-i2c-pins 1c1d400.usb platform: supplier 1c19400.phy not ready 3) I tried with the image you mentioned (link is dead, "https://fedoraproject.org/tr/spins/minimal/download" worked). I have serial access to the device and can supply early u-boot messages as well in need. As an average Linux user my guess is that it's a device tree/linux kernel configuration mismatch since the drivers are all at place. Thank you in advance for your efforts.
> As an average Linux user my guess is that it's a device tree/linux kernel > configuration mismatch since the drivers are all at place. My guess it's a linux driver dependency probe order problem. A quick look showed the DT is pretty complete for USB at least.
Further inspectation... I tried Archlinux ARM (http://os.archlinuxarm.org/os/ArchLinuxARM-aarch64-latest.tar.gz) having a 6.2.10 almost vanilla kernel (https://github.com/archlinuxarm/PKGBUILDs/tree/master/core/linux-aarch64). USB is working there as well.
I think I've found the problem here, just getting the time to test and prepare a kernel. A "almost vanilla kernel" tells me nothing :)
(In reply to Peter Robinson from comment #8) > I think I've found the problem here, just getting the time to test and > prepare a kernel. > \o/ waiting patiently for it to test. > A "almost vanilla kernel" tells me nothing :) I know I know you kernel folk don't like fuzzy words :D while comparing dmesg outputs of my working/non-working systems I realized this line doesn't exist on my fedora systems: sun8i-h3-r-pinctrl 1f02c00.pinctrl: initialized sunXi PIO driver.
From fedora kernel rpm src: kernel-aarch64-fedora.config # CONFIG_PINCTRL_SUN8I_H3 is not set I wish I had the knowledge to compile a fedora kernel :<
Yup, I've already got that ready to push, I've just not had time to create a PR yet, it'll be there in the next day or so for both 6.6 and 6.7 kernels.
This will be fixed in the 6.6.8 stable release and one of the next rawhide kernels.

I'm using the SBC as an octoprint server and everything seems to work fine. There are some error messages tho which are not harmful for my use case.

(In reply to Atila Satilmis from comment #14) > I'm using the SBC as an octoprint server and everything seems to work fine. > There are some error messages tho which are not harmful for my use case. It should work now for 6.6.8+ now too, please provide the explicit lines of the error messages, while they may not appear harmful for your usecase it's possible they are for others and if we can fix them for all it's useful.

I thought you would have asked for the dmesg log as feedback after the kernel update. Unless you otherwise stated I won't paste anything here, sorry...

It was too early speak about those "not so harmfull" messages. Kernel gives me some random oops at boot stage or while fetching container images (if it boots successfully)

This one happened during boot period (copied from uart console). I have 2 identical orangepi pc2 boards and the bug apperars at both of them. Armbian runs fine. Should I open a new ticket for this bug?

It's not a new bug actually. It just severed after the "usb not working" problem is solved. https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2258585
