Red Hat Satellite engineering is moving the tracking of its product development work on Satellite to Red Hat Jira (issues.redhat.com). If you're a Red Hat customer, please continue to file support cases via the Red Hat customer portal. If you're not, please head to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira and file new tickets here. Individual Bugzilla bugs will be migrated starting at the end of May. If you cannot log in to RH Jira, please consult article #7032570. That failing, please send an e-mail to the RH Jira admins at rh-issues@redhat.com to troubleshoot your issue as a user management inquiry. The email creates a ServiceNow ticket with Red Hat. Individual Bugzilla bugs that are migrated will be moved to status "CLOSED", resolution "MIGRATED", and set with "MigratedToJIRA" in "Keywords". The link to the successor Jira issue will be found under "Links", have a little "two-footprint" icon next to it, and direct you to the "Satellite project" in Red Hat Jira (issue links are of type "https://issues.redhat.com/browse/SAT-XXXX", where "X" is a digit). This same link will be available in a blue banner at the top of the page informing you that that bug has been migrated.

Description Mohit Kushwah 2023-12-15 11:50:44 UTC
Description of problem:

To make some comparison, if we reduce the browser's page size, the Satellite Web UI page does not show which Organization and Location is selected/currently in use.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):

Red Hat Satellite 6.15
satellite-6.15.0-2.el8sat.noarch

How reproducible:

100%

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Login to Satellite web UI.
2. Reduce the size to small or shift the web browser to the left or right of the screen.
3. The location and Organization options will shift to the bottom of the sidebar.

Actual results:

We can not see which Organization and Location currently is in use.
Refer to the attached screenshot compared with Satellite version 6.15 and 6.13.

Expected results:

Organization and Location should show selected in the sidebar as well.

Additional info:

Yes, we can change the page size and can see the selected organization and location, however the side bar should show the same, for ease of use.

Comment 3 kmalyjur 2024-01-08 11:32:35 UTC
At the Satellite UX Design meeting, we agreed that the org/loc menus will not be expanded by default. The current org/loc will be highlighted.

Comment 4 Peter Ondrejka 2024-01-29 07:45:30 UTC
Verified on Satellite 6.15 snap 8, current org and loc are highlighted in small screen view
