After updating to version 3.0.20, vlc crashes every time I open a video format file of any type. Before of that update, vlc perform normally. I have a nvidia video card, with nvidia kernel driver. For the record, I cannot reproduce this on an Intel GPU.
Please try different output modules and hardware-accelerated decoding settings until you find one that works for you.
