GRUB Customizer is incompatible with RH/Fedora GRUB, and usage of it can break people's systems pretty severely. Please retire this package from Fedora and EPEL 9. Reproducible: Always
Although I believe you, grub-customizer has been in Fedora for a long time. Please give more details about the incompatibility and/or how it breaks the systems.
This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora Linux 40 development cycle. Changing version to 40.

With BLS configurations there isn't much to configure. Therefore it encourages people to disable BLS and then complain that the new kernels doesn't show up in the grub menu when installing a new kernel. If you do some configuration, it will add new files to /etc/grub.d/ and can rename other files to rearrange the sequence. When later when you ugrade grub, you get a mixture of renamed files and the original files, resulting in duplicate file contents.

I encountered this myself when first installing Fedora 40 a few weeks ago. Running grub-customizer immediately invokes grub2-mkconfig and grub2-editenv on the first run, without the user actively initiating it. Since the program doesn't support or recognize BLS this can have some undesirable effects. The program also saves it's own grub environment variables to disk without the user's knowledge. In my case it changed the boot order from Fedora to Windows and it suppressed the splash boot screen, which made the next boot dark without any visual information about what was happening. This occurred without me changing any settings or saving anything in the program, it did this on it's own accord on the first run. It feels like a dangerous program in it's current state, due to a combination of incompatibility with BLS and it's tendency to auto-generate grub files/settings without prompting the user.
Helping since long on Ask.fp.o confirms that the Grub Customizer is causing more harm/problems then has benefits. I already used it my selves and was not really satisfied what I could do with it. Retiring it would be best. Or if someone has time and joy to fork it, make it work correctly with Rhel based systems, would be something else. Still makes problem on F41 An actual Issue is shown here: https://discussion.fedoraproject.org/t/issue-with-grub-customizer-issue-stuck-on-kernel-loading/135009
I will orphan it now.
This package has changed maintainer in Fedora. Reassigning to the new maintainer of this component.
This message is a reminder that Fedora Linux 40 is nearing its end of life. Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora Linux 40 on 2025-05-13.
