Description Matt Fagnani 2024-01-12 05:20:40 UTC
I ran sudo dnf offline-upgrade download with updates-testing enabled in a Fedora 39 KDE Plasma installation. dnf problems were shown with "nothing provides (python3.12dist(rpmautospec-core) < 0.2~~ with python3.12dist(rpmautospec-core) >= 0.1.4) needed by python3-rpmautospec-0.4.2-1.fc39.noarch from updates-testing" which prevented python3-rpmautospec-0.4.1-2.fc39.noarch from being updated.

Problem 1: cannot install the best update candidate for package python3-rpmautospec-0.4.1-2.fc39.noarch
  - nothing provides (python3.12dist(rpmautospec-core) < 0.2~~ with python3.12dist(rpmautospec-core) >= 0.1.4) needed by python3-rpmautospec-0.4.2-1.fc39.noarch from updates-testing
 Problem 2: package rpmautospec-0.4.2-1.fc39.noarch from updates-testing requires python3-rpmautospec = 0.4.2-1.fc39, but none of the providers can be installed
  - cannot install the best update candidate for package rpmautospec-0.4.1-2.fc39.noarch
  - nothing provides (python3.12dist(rpmautospec-core) < 0.2~~ with python3.12dist(rpmautospec-core) >= 0.1.4) needed by python3-rpmautospec-0.4.2-1.fc39.noarch from updates-testing

python3-rpmautospec-core-0.1.4-1.fc39.noarch provides python3.12dist(rpmautospec-core) = 0.1.4 https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/rpminfo?rpmID=36916439 Adding python3-rpmautospec-core-0.1.4-1.fc39.noarch to the update at https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2024-338183101f might fix this problem.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Boot a Fedora 39 KDE Plasma installation. I have python3-rpmautospec-0.4.1-2.fc39.noarch and python3-rpmautospec-core-0.1.3-1.fc39.noarch installed
2. Log in to Plasma on Wayland
3. Start Konsole
4. sudo dnf offline-upgrade download with updates-testing enabled

Actual Results:
dnf problems with "nothing provides (python3.12dist(rpmautospec-core) < 0.2~~ with python3.12dist(rpmautospec-core) >= 0.1.4) needed by python3-rpmautospec-0.4.2-1.fc39.noarch from updates-testing"

Expected Results:
No dnf problems should have happened
