This is a tracking bug for Change: Move /var/run selinux-policy entries to /run For more details, see: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/Move_var_run_selinux_policy_entries_to_run Actual path for system runtime files moved from /var/run to /run some 10 years ago [1], but the policy has been managed since then in a way that keeps the old entries and have updates still with the incorrect path while the real path is handled by file equivalency feature. This can confuse sysadmins not to be sure which path should be actually used and can also effect in userspace tools not working properly [2]. If you encounter a bug related to this Change, please do not comment here. Instead create a new bug and set it to block this bug.
I consider this task done, please use the following advisory with selinux-policy-40.12-1.fc40: https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2024-f83f4948f7 or a newer one.
Hi @zpytela thank you for the update. I will mark this bug as 'POST' indicating a fix has been applied.
OK. I would like to close it once I have all steps documented, still work in progres.
Sounds good! Thanks for the update!
I think ON_QA is the appropriate status for an Change that is considered complete.
