micropython is currently bundling mbedtls 2.28.3 where the bug is not present as it was introduced after 3.4.0.

In the case of later versions of micropython though we'll need to make sure that https://github.com/Mbed-TLS/mbedtls/commit/7c14afcaaaa2a4045e1b3cca840711ffa603c561 is included in the submodule's code as the development branch of micropython updates it.

I'd propose to keep this issue open for now.
