During an attempt to upgrade F39 to F40 I get this error: Problém 1: package audiocd-kio-libs-16.08.3-21.fc39.x86_64 from @System requires audiocd-kio = 16.08.3-21.fc39, but none of the providers can be installed - audiocd-kio-16.08.3-21.fc39.x86_64 from @System does not belong to a distupgrade repository - problém s nainstalovaným balíčkem audiocd-kio-libs-16.08.3-21.fc39.x86_64 This is because the subpackage audiocd-kio-libs is no longer part of F40 version of the package. Please are there any updates on this?

Sorry that was supposed to be from f38 to f40. (In reply to Joseph Shraibman from comment #2) > I'm having the same issue trying to upgrade from f30 to f40: >
Still having the issue. Looks like stable version 24.05.2-1.fc40 is available for Fedora 40. How do fix? --skip-broken in dnf doesn't work.
Correction this IS from f39 to f40.
I finally gave up and uninstalled audiocd-kio-libs, which forced the uninstall of kdemultimedia and kscd, neither of which seem to exist anymore in Fedora 40.
Than can you please add audiocd-kio-libs and kscd to fedora-obsolete-packages list so that they can be removed automatically in the F39->F40 upgrade? https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/package-maintainers/Package_Retirement_Process/#obsoleting_packages
While adding the faulty audiocd-kio-libs package to fedora-obsoletes-packages would probably work around the issue, the proper fix belongs to audiocd-kio which should properly obsoletes/provides the removed sub-package. IMHO, as the work involved is not really heavier in one case than in the other, let's no overload fedora-obsoletes-packages with stuff that don't belong to it. On the other hand, kscd and kdemultimedia should be added to fedora-obsoletes-packages, as they are dead packages.
(In reply to Joseph Shraibman from comment #6) > I finally gave up and uninstalled audiocd-kio-libs, which forced the > uninstall of kdemultimedia and kscd, neither of which seem to exist anymore > in Fedora 40. I did the same.
This message is a reminder that Fedora Linux 40 is nearing its end of life. Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora Linux 40 on 2025-05-13. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a 'version' of '40'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, change the 'version' to a later Fedora Linux version. Note that the version field may be hidden. Click the "Show advanced fields" button if you do not see it. Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not able to fix it before Fedora Linux 40 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora Linux, you are encouraged to change the 'version' to a later version prior to this bug being closed.
Has anybody bothered to fix this? There are still many F40 machines out of there that maybe interested by this upgrade bug
