This issue was introduced in this commit[1], which is present only in Wireshark versions 4.2.0 and newer.

Additionally, the CVE-2024-24478 was disputed, probably by upstream, with the following note[2]:
"NOTE: this is disputed by the vendor because neither release 4.2.0 nor any other release was affected."

Closing this bug as not a bug.
