Created attachment 2018112 [details] Update to 0.22.5 (#2265446)
the-new-hotness/release-monitoring.org's scratch build of gettext-0.22.5-1.fc38.src.rpm for rawhide completed http://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=113878492
Guillame Bernard, maintainer of l10n.gnome.org wanted to point out that this gettext release is needed for https://gitlab.gnome.org/Infrastructure/damned-lies/-/issues/496
Do you also need this update built for F39? I think we can only build newer upstream releases in branched and rawhide branches that is F40 and F41. There is a risk of pushing new upstream releases to older Fedora releases.
Hi, only F40 would be helpful. Now I’m using F38 to avoid the issues present in gettext < 0.22.5 but it will be end of life soon. If you look at the recent changes in the gettext history, there are not many changes and it’s only bugfixes.
It was pushed stable to F40 yesterday. https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2024-3eff693210
You’re helping a lot! Many thanks!
Cool, I still think we could consider backporting to F39 too, with a sufficient testing testing period
