Description Adam Williamson 2024-02-28 08:25:24 UTC
In implementing deferral of https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/AnacondaWebUIforFedoraWorkstation to Fedora 41, I missed reverting gnome-initial-setup's vendor.conf file. This file controls what pages are displayed or not displayed in various situations. It was adjusted to the webUI flow, which means it no longer specified the correct page skips for the old workflow (see https://fedoraproject.org//wiki/Changes/ReduceInitialSetupRedundancy and https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1474787 ).

I'm sending a build to fix this oversight, but we're now in the Beta freeze, so it will require a freeze exception, hence this bug report. If we don't fix this, some pages will be shown needlessly in the first-boot-after-install workflow (language selection, keyboard layout selection, and timezone configuration). These pages are redundant because the person who just ran the install also saw all the same settings in the installer.
