Description Nolan Poe 2024-03-24 08:25:36 UTC
Spec URL: https://npgo22.fedorapeople.org/systemc/systemc.spec
SRPM URL: https://npgo22.fedorapeople.org/systemc/systemc-3.0.0_pub_rev_20231129-1.fc41.src.rpm
Description: SystemC addresses the need for a system design and verification language
that spans hardware and software. It is a language built as an ANSI C++ class
library created for design and verification. Users worldwide are applying
SystemC to system-level modeling, abstract analog/mixed-signal modeling,
architectural exploration, performance modeling, software development,
functional verification, and high-level synthesis. The SystemC API
and its semantics are developed by the Accellera Systems Initiative
and formally standardized and governed by the IEEE
in the IEEE Std. 1666-2023 standard.

Koji scratch build of 2.3.4: https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=115375527
s390x and ppc64le builds currently fail because of:
```
/builddir/build/BUILD/systemc-2.3.4/src/sysc/datatypes/fx/sc_ufix.h:1832:1: error: redefinition of ‘sc_dt::sc_ufix_fast& sc_dt::sc_ufix_fast::operator-=(sc_dt::int64)’;
```
and similar errors. They have been fixed in the next major release, whenever that lands.

d) Can the patch that fixes failing builds on s390x and ppc be applied, alternatively, it is ok

Comment 7 Nolan Poe 2024-04-06 06:28:12 UTC
I was having a terrible time trying to get s390x and ppc64le to work with 2.3.4, so I took a break from working on this. Lo and behold, 3.0.0 was released with the fixes! Unfortunately, the regression tests now appear to hang, so I'll be disabling them for now.
Spec URL: https://npgo22.fedorapeople.org/systemc/systemc.spec
SRPM URL: https://npgo22.fedorapeople.org/systemc/systemc-3.0.0-1.fc41.src.rpm
Scratch build: https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=115963968

As with before, I'm still getting "E: undefined-non-weak-symbol", and I'm still working on trying to fix it.

Generated by fedora-review 0.10.0 (e79b66b) last change: 2023-07-24
Command line :/usr/bin/fedora-review -b 2271264
Buildroot used: fedora-rawhide-aarch64
Active plugins: C/C++, Generic, Shell-api
Disabled plugins: Python, SugarActivity, Perl, fonts, R, Java, Ocaml, PHP, Haskell
Disabled flags: EXARCH, EPEL6, EPEL7, DISTTAG, BATCH

Comments:
a) Is it possible to run the tests?
b) Is it worth packaging the examples as documentation?
c) The library soname should not be globbed:
https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/packaging-guidelines/#_listing_shared_library_files
d) Do not seem to get undefined non-weak symbol, maybe this was a false positive
e) License files are installed in the main and development packages, but as
the development package requires the main package, it need not have a separate
copy of the license files.
f) Is it possible to add a brief license breakdown in the spec file?
