Description nick 2024-03-27 02:41:25 UTC
The current version of goverlay in Fedora 40 is slightly outdated (0.9) and the current stable release includes many new enhancements and fixes which are lacking in all pre-1.0 versions of this package.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install goverlay from the repos
2. Notice it's extremely out of date even in the upcoming Fedora point release
Actual Results:
Older package version

Expected Results:
Newer package version

I understand that maintaining packages is a task that requires time and effort from you, and completely get it if you feel that it is not necessary to bump to the latest release or the release before it. This issue is open only to track the updates for goverlay. Do not feel this report means you are obligated to follow through.

Currently, there are other methods of obtaining a newer version on Fedora 40: Toolbx/Distrobox (particularly using an Arch Linux container or something that has the newer versions of this package), building from source, and some other methods that are not as simple as installing the package.

The problem was with Anitya which for some reason doesn't notified about new release.

Oh I see then. This seems solved now. Thank you for keeping it up to date.
