Well, this has clearly been *done*, so I think it should be MODIFIED or ON_QA. Setting to MODIFIED at least, I guess it's up to jmracek whether it's considered "100%" (ON_QA) or not (MODIFIED).
Hi, I was reading yesterday's FESCO meeting notes and saw that our team is expected to provide a status update. Apologies for the misunderstanding on my part regarding the earlier comment here. On our end, the implementation outlined in the proposal is nearly complete. The remaining task is to deliver the dnf5daemon plugin for GNOME Software. We have a COPR repository with the proposed changes available (https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/mcrha/gnome-software-dnf5/), and we're in regular contact with the GNOME Software team, working on testing and finalizing the last details. We hope to have a downstream patch ready by the end of this week. If we cannot deliver it before the Fedora 41 release, it shouldn't be a major issue as detailed in this section of the proposal: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/SwitchToDnf5#GNOME_Software. We could also deliver the patch during the Fedora 41 lifecycle if that works better.
We've decided to postpone the dnf5daemon GNOME Software plugin delivery to the next Fedora version and now plan to release it during the Fedora 42 Rawhide cycle. This allows us to address remaining issues and organize Fedora Testing Days for thorough community testing. As mentioned earlier, typical Fedora users shouldn't notice any changes due to this decision. I am moving this to ON_QA, as the work for Fedora 41 is considered complete.
