Description of problem: I just noticed that the package that used to only provide src.zip now also contains the entire java runtime source including C++ code and tests, and that not in in an archive file either. (I know, it's been just about a year already, I guess I haven't been doing a lot of Java using the system JDK on Fedora lately) Needing src.zip is fairly common while developing Java code (for debugging or just looking at the stdlib code), while in the entire time I've been doing Java there was only one time I actually needed the runtime code for debugging, and I expect it's similar for most others. So, that leads me to two questions: Wouldn't this be a better fit for the debugsource package? And even if not, should this really be in the same package? This makes the installed package's files around 12x larger than the file almost everyone will be installing it for.
I agree. The full sources shoud be in separate subpkg.
This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora Linux 42 development cycle. Changing version to 42.
