It works fine here.

1) Is it just that you cannot move the main window but the player works nevertheless?

2) Does it also happen if you run "audacious -G" from a terminal?

3) Is it a fresh installation of Fedora 40 or an upgraded installation?

4) Start the player from within a terminal as "audacious -Q -V" and attach the output.

audacious -Q -V output

Comment 3 Dieter Stolte 2024-04-26 11:45:40 UTC
1) Only the window movement is the problem, the player itself works
2) -G is fixing the problem
3) Upgrade. But I cleaned a lot of settings to default values and caches.
4) see attachment #2 [details]

Comment 4 Dieter Stolte 2024-04-26 12:00:40 UTC
Additional info. If I switch the "Interface" value in settings from "winamp" to QT then the movement also works in QT mode.

Comment 5 Michael Schwendt 2024-04-26 12:03:49 UTC
Yep, I've had a look at the various interface options meanwhile.

It is Wayland again breaking the Winamp Classic Interface if running Audacious' in Qt mode. There is ongoing development, but no immediate fix.

Workarounds:

 - set QT_QPA_PLATFORM=xcb in your environment or run "QT_QPA_PLATFORM=xcb audacious"
 - choose Xorg instead of Wayland on the login screen
 - enable the Audacious GTK (legacy) mode interface
