Description Rohit Keshri 2024-04-26 05:37:17 UTC
An out-of-bounds write vulnerability exists in the JPEG2000Codec::DecodeByStreamsCommon functionality of Mathieu Malaterre Grassroot DICOM 3.0.23. A specially crafted DICOM file can lead to a heap buffer overflow. An attacker can provide a malicious file to trigger this vulnerability.

Created gdcm tracking bugs for this issue:

Affects: fedora-38 [bug 2277290]
Affects: fedora-39 [bug 2277291]
Affects: fedora-40 [bug 2277292]

What about EPEL 9? I believe the version of gdcm in EPEL 9 is also affected. I'm currently applying the patches to that branch as well.
