After recently upgrading to fedora 40, I noticed high CPU temperatures. After checking system monitor, it turned out that the process "tracker-miner-fs-3" was using a lot of CPU resources and not stopping. I made a post on the fedora forums as well: https://discussion.fedoraproject.org/t/tracker-miner-service-causing-high-cpu-usage/115906 Reproducible: Didn't try Actual Results: Constant high CPU usage Expected Results: Maybe short CPU spikes; Normal CPU Temperatures and CPU usage by the tracker-miner-fs-3 process I "fixed" this by restarting the service with the command "systemctl --user restart tracker-miner-fs-3.service". The process started up again and did not constantly use a lot of CPU. Here is an excerpt from the service logs using "systemctl --user status tracker-miner-fs-3.service", this occurred multiple times: Mai 02 13:20:20 erik-fedora-laptop tracker-miner-fs-3[18268]: (tracker-extract-3:18268): Tracker-WARNING **: 13:20:20.057: Task for ‘file:///home/erik/Videos/filename.temp.webm’ finished with error: Error when getting information for file “filename.temp.webm”: No such file or directory Mai 02 13:20:20 erik-fedora-laptop tracker-miner-fs-3[18268]: (tracker-extract-3:18268): Tracker-WARNING **: 13:20:20.067: Could not get mimetype, Error when getting information for file “filename.temp.webm”: No such file or directory

This this annoying issue has been solved upstream one month ago, why isn't tracker miner 3.7.4 available in Fedora 41 workstation?
