Description Sergio Correia 2024-05-06 07:40:19 UTC
After updating to f40, I noticed geeqie (geeqie-2.2-1.fc40.x86_64) started crashing whenever I attempted to rename a file by right clicking it and selecting Rename.

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. open geeqie
2. right click a file, select Rename
3. no need to even rename it, just ESC to cancel the operation
Actual Results:
geeqie crashes with the following written to stderr:

(geeqie:150018): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: 08:36:48.033: g_object_set_qdata: assertion 'G_IS_OBJECT (object)' failed

(geeqie:150018): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: 08:36:48.033: instance with invalid (NULL) class pointer

(geeqie:150018): GLib-GObject-CRITICAL **: 08:36:48.033: g_signal_handlers_destroy: assertion 'G_TYPE_CHECK_INSTANCE (instance)' failed
Geeqie fatal error
Signal: Invalid memory reference

Expected Results:
No crashes

I tried the rawhide version, 2.4, and the issue was not present, so I did some digging and found out this upstream patch would fix the issue: https://github.com/BestImageViewer/geeqie/commit/fef4012de70dc468b00c7d07549f7b447cf47f13
