/run/xrdp should be removed on package uninstall. Why is this a problem? Newer beta versions of xrdp 0.10 manage /run/xrdp in a slightly different way which doesn't depend on tmp-link permissions. On downgrade, however, the lingering directory is unusable in the "old-style" layout, which requires non-privileged users writing directly into /run/xrdp. (By "downgrade" here I technically mean uninstall/reinstall.) Suggested fix is to include a %files %ghost entry for this directory, or equivalent, to ensure removal on uninstall. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: - Install xrdp - Start xrdp.service - Stop xrdp.service (optional, covered by RPM scriptlet) - Uninstall xrdp Actual Results: /run/xrdp is left behind as an empty directory. Expected Results: /run/xrdp should be removed with the package.
I see there is a discussion about this upstream and we should like continue it there. We are not shipping the new version yet, so nobody using Fedora or EPEL packages should bump into this, unless they are testing.
This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora Linux 42 development cycle. Changing version to 42.
