The kernel is missing the wvlan_cs driver for the Lucent Wavelan 802.11 cards (and others.) It used to be included in the pcmcia-cs source...
Don't WaveLAN cards use the wavelan driver in 2.4 as opposed to wvlan_cs?
I don't think so - it certainly doesn't load.
Yeah, that's the ISA one. That'll teach me to try to remember what people told me on IRC months ago after eating all day :)
This defect is considered MUST-FIX for Florence Gold release
How about we split the difference and use wavelan_cs? There is no wvlan_cs driver in 2.4. Our current 2.4 config files turn on CONFIG_PCMCIA_WAVELAN so it should be built when we have a kernel based on 2.4.0-final or later.
That's not the same driver. wvlan_cs is currently *only* in the pcmcia-cs source package; it needs added.
Builds in our current tree as of a few hours ago, but not yet tested.
As I don't have the hardware itself, I would appreciate all feedback I can get.
Works for me in 0.99.11. Closing as resolved.
