Recently, KWin packages were updated, but the "kwin-x11" package remains on an "old" version (not sure how to describe it), but what I can say is that the new update is causing issues. Compositor crashes and alerts about OpenGL backend crash. Downgrading to "6.0.3.1-2.fc40" for other "kwin*" packages ("6.0.3.1-1.fc40" for "kwin-x11", specifically) fixes the issue. kwin.x86_64, kwin-common.x86_64, kwin-libs.x86_64 and kwin-wayland.x86_64 latest version: 6.0.4.1-3.fc40 kwin-x11.x86_64 latest version: 6.0.4.1-1.fc40 Judging by the commits: https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/kwin/commits/f40 https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/kwin-x11/commits/f40 It seems this one is causing issues: https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/kwin/c/38060ccda3e68421c478808dfb9f2e5ca58d9f29?branch=f40 Because it doesn't seem, at first glance, that there was any other commit so "significant" that it could have caused any problem. I don't know exactly; that's just a guess. I'm on NVIDIA with X11. Thank you for your attention. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Explained above. Actual Results: Explained above. Expected Results: Explained above. Also causes problems in other apps when the compositor is dead (such as Steam).
I update my vm and seems it is working , I don't see the problem
I spoke too soon , indeed kwin crashes

kwin-x11-6.0.4.1-2.fc40 did not actually fix the bug, but kwin-x11-6.0.4.1-3.fc40 reportedly does. See https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2024-06d286a7c5 and https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2280852#c17 for details.
