Comment 4 Michel Lind 2024-08-28 15:18:13 UTC
0.24.0 final is out, the breaking change is it needs pytest >= 8.2 now

https://github.com/pytest-dev/pytest-asyncio/releases

Looks like there is a dependent marked as incompatible with v8.2 is python-sentry-sdk - so if we upgrade this it probably should be Rawhide only given we're already in beta freeze

(since who knows what other dependent not marked with version bounds might fail too - though ksurma has been chasing packages not compatible with pytest 8 so maybe there's not that many left)

michel in django-allauth on  main via 🐍 v3.12.5
⬢ [f40-packaging] ❯ fedrq whatrequires 'python3dist(pytest-asyncio)' -F multiline:source,requires | grep 'python3dist(pytest)' | grep '<'
python-pytest-httpx : (python3dist(pytest) < 9~~ with python3dist(pytest) >= 7)
python-sentry-sdk : python3dist(pytest) < 8.2~~

Comment 5 Carl George 🤠 2024-12-03 22:47:36 UTC
The main pytest is 8.3 now, and there is a compat python-pytest7 for things like python-sentry-sdk. I think we're in the clear to update this.
