This bug was correctly filed, in that this package has Provides: bundled(python3dist(pymongo)) However, the forked/bundled code from PyMongo is a single routine that implements the RFC4013 SASLprep algorithm, and none of the BSON-related code from pymongo is included in pdfminer. Therefore, this package is not affected by CVE-2024-5629.
