Description Jonathan Wright 2024-06-25 18:43:26 UTC
Please branch and build python-joblib in epel9.

If you do not wish to maintain python-joblib in epel9,
or do not think you will be able to do this in a timely manner,
the EPEL Packagers SIG would be happy to be a co-maintainer of the package;
please add the epel-packagers-sig group through
https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/python-joblib/addgroup
and grant it commit access, or collaborator access on epel* branches.

I would also be happy to be a co-maintainer (FAS: jonathanspw).

I can be the primary contact for EPEL (FAS: jonathanspw).

Reproducible: Always

Will you be able to branch and build python-joblib in epel9?
The EPEL Packagers SIG would be happy to be a co-maintainer
if you do not wish to build it on epel9.

Comment 2 Sergio Pascual 2024-08-21 23:46:54 UTC
I have added you as co-maintainer. Please go ahead with the branching

This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora Linux 42 development cycle.
Changing version to 42.

Comment 4 Romain Geissler 2025-03-11 11:16:31 UTC
The rawhide content currently doesn't build fine on EPEL 9. It requires a recent setuptools, and even if we patch the pyproject.toml file to ignore that, it then needs a recent hatchling:

WARNING No matching package to install: 'python3dist(hatchling) >= 53'

Not sure which version you would need (a recent one of an "old" one from Fedora 40 or 41). Since you are package as well, I will let you handle this request based your needs.
