Please branch and build python-joblib in epel9. If you do not wish to maintain python-joblib in epel9, or do not think you will be able to do this in a timely manner, the EPEL Packagers SIG would be happy to be a co-maintainer of the package; please add the epel-packagers-sig group through https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/python-joblib/addgroup and grant it commit access, or collaborator access on epel* branches. I would also be happy to be a co-maintainer (FAS: jonathanspw). I can be the primary contact for EPEL (FAS: jonathanspw). Reproducible: Always
Will you be able to branch and build python-joblib in epel9? The EPEL Packagers SIG would be happy to be a co-maintainer if you do not wish to build it on epel9.
I have added you as co-maintainer. Please go ahead with the branching
This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora Linux 42 development cycle. Changing version to 42.
The rawhide content currently doesn't build fine on EPEL 9. It requires a recent setuptools, and even if we patch the pyproject.toml file to ignore that, it then needs a recent hatchling: WARNING No matching package to install: 'python3dist(hatchling) >= 53' Not sure which version you would need (a recent one of an "old" one from Fedora 40 or 41). Since you are package as well, I will let you handle this request based your needs.
