The changelog says: https://github.com/ParkMyCar/compact_str/blob/main/CHANGELOG.md#080 ## Breaking Changes 💥 * Consolidate `CompactString::new_inline(...)` and `CompactString::from_static_str(...)` into `CompactString::const:new(...)`. Methods are currently marked as deprecated and will be removed in `v0.9.0`. * Implemented in [`Add const_new(); remove new_inline() and from_static_str()`](https://github.com/ParkMyCar/compact_str/pull/336) * Minimum supported Rust version (MSRV) was bumped to `v1.60` * Implemented in [`fix: MSRV check and change MSRV to 1.60`](https://github.com/ParkMyCar/compact_str/pull/395) It sounds like we should be able to patch version bounds, since the old methods are merely deprecated; it also sounds like updating packages to be forward-compatible with 0.9.0 should be straightforward. python-orjson : (crate(compact_str) >= 0.7.0 with crate(compact_str) < 0.8.0~) python-orjson : (crate(compact_str/serde) >= 0.7.0 with crate(compact_str/serde) < 0.8.0~) rust-ratatui : (crate(compact_str/default) >= 0.7.1 with crate(compact_str/default) < 0.8.0~) Compatibility with python-orjson can be handled by merging https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/python-orjson/pull-request/19 at the same time. I haven’t looked into rust-ratatui yet. This release adds a feature for borsh, which isn’t packaged; we can patch it out just as is already done in the rust-uuid and rust-indexmap packages. Similarly, there are new sqlx and sqlx-{mysql,postgres,sqlite} features that we can patch out since there is currently no rust-sqlx package.
