After a recent update, the emacs-lucid executable was missing. In it's place /usr/bin contained emacs-29.4-lucid. I worked around the problem by installing a symlink from this executable to emacs-lucid. Packages installed by this update included: emacs.x86_64 1:29.4-5.fc40 updates emacs-common.x86_64 1:29.4-5.fc40 updates emacs-filesystem.noarch 1:29.4-5.fc40 updates emacs-gtk+x11.x86_64 1:29.4-5.fc40 updates emacs-lucid.x86_64 1:29.4-5.fc40 updates I am running Fedora 40 xfce spin with kernel 6.9.7-200.fc40.x86_64 #1 SMP PREEMPT_DYNAMIC on an HP Pavilion Desktop TP01-2165z with AMD Ryzen 5 5600G with Radeon Graphics CPU. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Type emacs-lucid at the command line 2. 3. Actual Results: Message to terminal bash: emacs-lucid: command not found Expected Results: emacs-lucid should launch
I think this would also work as a workaround: sudo dnf reinstall emacs-lucid
