Description Miro Hrončok 2024-07-30 11:06:00 UTC
Hello.

I'd like to use this in a specfile that might get backported into Fedora 39:

  BuildRequires: openssl-devel-engine

However, nothing provides that in Fedora 40 and 39.

Please add virtual provides for this into the openssl-devel package on Fedora 39 and 40, so it is easier to use across Fedoras.

Thanks.

Comment 1 Dmitry Belyavskiy 2024-07-30 11:49:25 UTC
Sorry, we don't plan providing a separate package in f39/f40.
openssl/engine.h file and man pages are a part of openssl-devel package and splitting the package in already released versions will cause problems.

Comment 2 Miro Hrončok 2024-07-30 11:56:43 UTC
That's not what I am requesting.

I am requesting to add virtual Provides, see the attached PRs.

My PRs were merged and you built them a week ago. Thanks.

Will you create Bodhi updates for this, or shall, I?

I don't want to step on your toes.
