Description hackintoshfive 2024-08-19 16:43:34 UTC
Description of problem:
rpm-ostree stopped depending on fuse, breaking workflow for users of fusermount. In particular this breaks AppImages.

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
This began in (or around) Silverblue b03910cccf3af6f538a96d0d1177a60410882213acc708eda18eed6d1ea28ebc. This seems to be caused by https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/rpm-ostree/c/3c602a23787fd2df873c0b18df3133c9fec4b66a.

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install Silverblue 05fba6d25a87db003fb7d9fa261626c1bfee9af16a80f4631cc6b795513dcb1b and download an AppImage.
2. Update to b03910cccf3af6f538a96d0d1177a60410882213acc708eda18eed6d1ea28ebc and reboot.
3. Launch the AppImage

Actual results:
Cannot mount AppImage, please check your FUSE setup.

Expected results:
AppImage works

Additional info:
Can probably be resolved in the same way as https://pagure.io/workstation-ostree-config/c/c7f72d2cd5eea6b1385ce748afbd746147d8f7ba

Comment 1 Micah Abbott 2024-08-19 19:50:35 UTC
See the ongoing discussion about how to handle this in the issue tracker - https://gitlab.com/fedora/ostree/sig/-/issues/50

Comment 2 Timothée Ravier 2024-08-20 08:57:09 UTC
Should be fixed with: https://pagure.io/workstation-ostree-config/pull-request/553

Closing as not a bug as this is not a bug in rpm-ostree itself.
