Hi, would you please add the infra-sig group as co-maintainer to the package? The reason Iām asking is that this package is a dependency of rpmautospec, which is deployed as a mock plugin on Koji builders meanwhile. This means, it uses rpmautospec from the target release for building SRPMs, making it part of the critical path, and we want to be able to apply fixes in case this is necessary.
To expand on the justification a bit, the most pressing need is that infra-sig members needs to be able to able to bootstrap rpmautospec in new EPEL major versions. This involves creating new EPEL branches for rpmautospec and its dependencies, which can only be performed by the maintainers of the packages in question. There will also eventually be bootstrap work for new koji architectures, which may require spec file changes in existing branches. These sort of changes can go through a pull request workflow, but ideally should be able to be reviewed by other infra-sig members to make urgent fixes in a timely manner.
It looks like llhttp is going to be rebased in CentOS 10 soon. https://kojihub.stream.centos.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=68861 This is going to require rebuilding libgit2. We previously built it without an epel10 branch as part of this update. https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-EPEL-2024-be26b5b32e This type of behavior is discouraged, but we had no choice for something that is in the critical path for creating buildroots. Please add the infra-sig to this package so we can do the necessary work.
It's not cool at all that you built libgit2 abusing powers and not creating a proper branch. You could have just asked ... I am not really interested in empowering more hacks that are surely to come from that kind of mindset. Feel free to file PRs and requests but I am going to NAK this request.
