This is a tracking bug for Change: Anaconda as native Wayland application For more details, see: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/Anaconda_As_Native_Wayland_Application Currently, Anaconda is still an X11 application, which we would like to fix and make Anaconda Wayland native application to allow us drop of the X11 dependencies from installation ISO images. However, this change is not just a simple switch and we need to do some adjustments during the path which will impact user experience. If you encounter a bug related to this Change, please do not comment here. Instead create a new bug and set it to block this bug.
Hi Jiri, how goes this change for F42? The testable deadline is coming up in about two weeks, on Feb 4th, and changes need to be in good shape at this point https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/program_management/changes_policy/#_change_process_milestones Please let me know if you need to defer this to F43, otherwise if youre good to go for the change to be ready to meet the testable requirements, please update the status of the tracker bug to MODIFIED. Thanks! Aoife
Hi, everything is resolved from the Anaconda side. However, the localed keyboard switching is not resolved for: - Workstation - they accepted they want to have this implemented, however, they don't have capacity - it was broken even before in Fedora, so I don't think it's blocking - X11 based environments - this should be on X11 spin maintainers but I agreed that I will help so I started the project which is unfortunately not packaged and used yet - I want to ask for community help as I have hard to time get to this
Last piece to get X11 spins oboarded https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2025-a3429bf4d0
