Can the /etc/pam.d/weston-remote-access config be marked as %config(noreplace) so that my customizations remain if I've tweaked the pam stack? Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. customize weston-remote-access authentication (pam) for my workflow 2. upgrade weston 3. discover auth is broken 4. re-deplopy pam customizations
I should just move the pam config to the /usr/share/pam.d location anyway. That way /etc/ overrides work like they should.
(In reply to Neal Gompa from comment #1) > I should just move the pam config to the /usr/share/pam.d location anyway. > That way /etc/ overrides work like they should. It seems that most packages just keep them in /etc, at least checking on my system there is nothing in /usr/share/pam.d/. The weston meson build puts it in /etc by default and it is also mentioned in the weston-vnc(7) manpage. So I think it should be left in /etc/pam.d/. Looking at the spec for other packages which install to /etc/pam.d/ I think we should just mark it as %config(noreplace) as suggested.
People don't know you can put them there now, which is why it's not populated.
But sure, I'll do that for now and look at changing in Weston 14.
