We will probably need to wait until 4.5 release as per bug #2250564 comment #10: > Hopefully version 4.5 will fix both this issue and the Qt 6.7+ incompatibility that has prevented me from updating beyond the 4.3 series.

Sadly, the Musescore 4.5 releases still use KDDockWidgets 1.5, which is incompatible with Qt 6.7+. It's the same issue: the various panels (e.g., the mixer) fail to appear. I see upstream activity around updating to KDDockWidgets 2.1, as well as adapting to Qt 6.8. I suppose that will land in Musescore 4.6 or 5.0, whichever is next. Until then, we have to stay on Musescore 4.3, which uses Qt5. The impatient may wish to try out the Musescore appimage available from upstream.

The latest version in Fedora is more than a year old, cf. https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/releases/tag/v4.3.2. It would be really nice to have a more recent version available.

FYI, MuseScore patched KDDockWidgets 1 to get their app to work with that version: https://github.com/musescore/MuseScore/issues/28775#issuecomment-3285778891
Yes, I've been tracking upstream's work on version 4.6.0, and have made many test builds of 4.6.0 alpha and beta to try things out. If you look upstream, you'll even see a couple of merged pull requests from me. :-) I hope they release soon. I'm ready to go whenever upstream is. We'll have to keep an eye on the Wayland issues, of course.
