Description Kaleb KEITHLEY 2024-09-11 15:22:06 UTC
Please branch and build libev in epel10.

If you do not wish to maintain libev in epel10,
or do not think you will be able to do this in a timely manner,
the EPEL Packagers SIG would be happy to be a co-maintainer of the package;
please add the epel-packagers-sig group through
https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/libev/addgroup
and grant it commit access, or collaborator access on epel* branches.

I would also be happy to be a co-maintainer (FAS: kkeithle);
please add me through https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/libev/adduser

Comment 1 Xavier Bachelot 2024-09-12 14:55:44 UTC
libev is there, libev-devel is missing.
See https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-55297

Comment 2 Kaleb KEITHLEY 2024-09-12 15:34:17 UTC
Classic bad assumption on my part, assuming that if libev-devel was missing that libev wasn't there. My bad.

needs an epel10 branch on libev-epel. Or RHEL to add it to CRB.

Comment 4 Fabian Affolter 2024-09-26 07:10:23 UTC
Peter is the maintainer of libev-epel. I will assign the ticket to them as it's their call about epe10.

Comment 5 Peter Georg 2024-09-26 10:30:33 UTC
FYI:
libev-devel is now included in the latest CentOS Stream 9 compose. Relevant MR: [1]
I'll update libev-epel to drop the libev-devel subpackage once this change lands in RHEL.

Concerning EPEL10: There is no corresponding MR to get it into CentOS Stream 10 composes yet.
For me there is no clear answer in the linked issue [2] yet whether this will also be applied to CentOS Stream 10.
However, the mere coincidence of libev-devel being added to CRB for Stream 9 now might indicate it'll also be included in CRB for Stream 10.

In case it is not added for Stream 10 I'll branch libev-epel for epel10. Same once missing subpackage libev-source is requested.

Comment 6 Xavier Bachelot 2024-10-01 09:28:14 UTC
libev-devel is on its way to CRB CS/RHEL 10:

Comment 7 Peter Georg 2024-10-01 10:50:08 UTC
Due to libev-devel being added to CRB for EL10, I'm closing this issue as NOTABUG now.

In case someone reads this in the future due to missing libev-source as dependency in epel10: Please create a new issue and assign it to me.
