There was an issue in pulseaudio that would cause random hangs/gaps in some circumstances. That was fixed almost 2 years ago in the main branch but never ended up in a 16.x release. Fedora 40 uses 16.1, which has this issue. There will not be a 16.2 release, so therefore I'm asking this commit to be applied to 16.1 to fix people who encounter this issue. (Issue is fixed in 17.x for f41). * Merge Request with the fix : https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/pulseaudio/pulseaudio/-/merge_requests/745 * Backport in 16.x branch : https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/pulseaudio/pulseaudio/-/commit/686ae9c69635f1005f2c9a09539e2be93f86d6ff Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: Not really any reliable way to reproduce, these bug reports (from pulse and gstreamer) explain show the issue: * https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/gstreamer/gstreamer/-/issues/3701 * https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/gstreamer/gstreamer/-/issues/1735 * https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/pulseaudio/pulseaudio/-/issues/3757
