GNOME Tour 47.0 was released as a part of GNOME 47 that is present in Fedora 41. However, Fedora 41 still uses old gnome-tour 46.0 package that contains multiple outdated information and has incomplete translations. The gnome-tour package was already updated to 47.0 in Rawhide a week ago: https://bodhi.fedoraproject.org/updates/FEDORA-2024-e5d6841a99 Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Use latest, fully updated Fedora 41 system. 2. Check the gnome-tour version: rpm -q gnome-tour Actual Results: gnome-tour-46.0-3.fc41.x86_64 Expected Results: gnome-tour-47.0-1.fc41.x86_64
Proposed as a Freeze Exception for 41-final by Fedora user asciiwolf using the blocker tracking app because: GNOME Tour 47.0 was released as a part of GNOME 47 that is present in Fedora 41. However, Fedora 41 still uses old gnome-tour 46.0 package that contains multiple outdated information and has incomplete translations.
Discussed during the 2024-09-30 blocker review meeting: [1] The decision to classify this bug as a AcceptedFreezeException (Final) was made: "This is accepted as the tour is intended to be encountered on first boot after install, so it cannot effectively be updated post-release for installs from the Workstation live (the most common case)." It looks like the F41 build exists[1], however it was not added to Bodhi and is still not available in F41. [1] https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/buildinfo?buildID=2551833
Also, it has an incorrect changelog - missing 47.0-1 entry. But the F42 build has the same problem.
