Description of problem: Suricata 6 reached EOL in Aug '24[1]. Current stable version is Suricata 7 [2], which is available on fedora40 [3]. Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable): suricata-6.0.20-1.el8.x86_64 Not sure on what is the process to have the current stable version in EPEL8+. Thanks, Davide [1] https://suricata.io/2024/08/01/suricata-6-is-now-end-of-life-eol/ [2] https://suricata.io/download/ [3] suricata-7.0.6-1.fc40.x86_64
The upgrade from 6 to 7 is not a straight forward dnf -y update. Working things will break. https://docs.suricata.io/en/suricata-7.0.6/upgrade.html#upgrading-6-0-to-7-0 I'm wondering how best to call attention to this?
