This is a tracking bug for Change: Integrate FEX in Fedora Linux For more details, see: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/FEX FEX is a fast emulator that allows one to run x86 and x86-64 binaries on an AArch64 Linux host. FEX requires a number of supporting components, including a RootFS image, and integration with muvm to support 16k page-size hosts. The purpose of this Change is to integrate FEX itself and its supporting components into Fedora Linux, to provide a delightful out-of-box experience for users that want to run x86 and x86-64 binaries on their aarch64 systems. This also includes integration into the AArch64 Fedora KDE spin as a non-blocking component of the spin. If you encounter a bug related to this Change, please do not comment here. Instead create a new bug and set it to block this bug.
Hi Davide, how goes this change for F42? The testable deadline is coming up in about two weeks, on Feb 4th, and changes need to be in good shape at this point https://docs.fedoraproject.org/en-US/program_management/changes_policy/#_change_process_milestones for Beta. Please let me know if you need to defer this to F43, otherwise if youre good to go for the change to be ready to meet the testable requirements, please update the status of the tracker bug to MODIFIED. Thanks! Aoife
This should be fine for testable, all the actual code and packages are already landed, the only thing that's missing is updating the comps groups to get them pulled in automatically, and that's something we'll sort out this week.
Thank you Davide, I was just reading this bz and change to add a note to the incomplete changes report for FESCo, so great timing :) I assume this last item will land after Beta freeze and either the change goes as is for Beta release and then is fully in place for Final, or can go to the updates-testing repo?
Yeah, Neal just put up https://pagure.io/fedora-comps/pull-request/1089 to get comps updated so we should be good.
Everything is done and ready to go.
