Description Paul F. Johnson 2007-03-13 00:24:31 UTC
Description of problem:
I have both the en_GB and de langpacks installed. Outside of a table, if I'm
using the German langpack (entire doc set as being in German) and misspell a
word, the usual wavy underline appears.

If I have a doc (English) with a table in and set one column to be set as being
in German (highlight, right click, character..., set to German (Germany)) and
just type random letters, the wavy underline does not appear. If I type in
either of the other columns with just random characters, the wavy line appears

Default language on my box is set as English (UK)

Version-Release number of selected component (if applicable):
2.2.0-11.1

How reproducible:
Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Install the German langpack, create a 3 column table
2. Highlight the first column, right click, characters..., set the language as
german
3. Type wibblewobble in the first column

Actual results:
Nothing happens

Expected results:
wibblewobble should be underlined as not being a German word

Can you rpm -q hunspell-de, is that installed ? And when you look at
format->character is there a little abc and a correct tick beside German ?

i.e. this is working for me with no difference from being in a table and outside
it.

On the other hand I do know there is a current problem with dictionaries, i.e.
you have to manually install the dictionaries at the moment.

What *should* happen is that we add the correct Requires: to the -de langpack to
get this dictionary. But we added these dictionaries to extras and split them
out of the langpacks. But right now the core/extras merge is not complete and it
is awkward to Require an extras from a core package, if you do them the nag mail
about broken dependancies will be sent out every day, and if someone
BuildRequires a package which Requires an extra one, then it cannot be built in
the core build system.

So for the moment I have commented out these Requires, they will be
re-introduced when the core/extras get merged, or if they don't get merged in
time then I'll comment out anyway and take the pain of the "OOo has broken
depends" and the 1001 bug reports about the automail so that this works as designed.

I'll be requiring the dictionaries on the first merged core/extras build. I
think that'll sort our the problem here.

Comment 4 Caolan McNamara 2007-04-06 12:04:42 UTC
merge postponed for a week

Comment 5 Caolan McNamara 2007-05-03 19:29:55 UTC
merge complete, build with hunspell dictionary Requires added underway
