Dear package maintainer, this bugzilla is automated becasue the number of impacted packages it too high to go trough manually. It appears that your package failed to build with setuptools 74.1.3 and wheel 0.44 in https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/churchyard/setuptools-74/package/python-testscenarios/ While it succeeded with setuptools 69.2.0 and wheel 0.43 in https://copr.fedorainfracloud.org/coprs/churchyard/setuptools-control/package/python-testscenarios/ This usually means this package fails to build with setuptools 74+ We plan to update setuptools to version 74 or newer in Fedora 42. This is an approved Fedora 42 Change: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Changes/Setuptools_74+ Please analyze the failure and fix it in rawhide. Thanks. You can use the builds from the churchyard/setuptools-74 copr for local testing. mock -r fedora-rawhide-x86_64 --addrepo 'https://download.copr.fedorainfracloud.org/results/churchyard/setuptools-74/fedora-rawhide-$basearch/' One of the most common problems is that the setup.py test command cannot be used. If that is the case here, run the tests in %check differently, e.g. via %pytest, %tox, %{python3} -m unittest, etc. If you need help, reach out to me in this bugzilla.
I plan to update setuptools to 74.x in rawhide this week. At that point, this package will fail to build from source if not fixed.
Thank you for identifying and raising this. Unfortunately, I have zero time to look into this. I'd rather orphan the package, but I do recall it was a (build time) dependency for multiple other packages.
Indeed it's heavily dependent upon, mostly by the oslo stack. I think if you orphan it, it will find a new maintainer. $ repoquery -q --repo=rawhide{,-source} --whatrequires python3-testscenarios bandit-0:1.7.10-1.fc42.src python-cliff-0:4.7.0-1.fc42.src python-daemon-0:2.3.2-8.fc41.src python-futurist-0:3.0.0-3.fc41.src python-gear-0:0.16.0-7.fc41.src python-glanceclient-1:4.7.0-1.fc42.src python-hacking-0:7.0.0-1.fc42.src python-heatclient-0:4.0.0-1.fc42.src python-jenkins-0:1.8.2-4.fc42.src python-keystoneclient-1:5.5.0-1.fc42.src python-magnumclient-0:4.7.0-1.fc42.src python-murano-pkg-check-0:0.3.0-34.fc41.src python-neutronclient-0:11.3.1-1.fc42.src python-novaclient-1:18.7.0-1.fc42.src python-octaviaclient-0:3.8.0-1.fc42.src python-openstacksdk-0:4.0.0-1.fc42.src python-os-service-types-0:1.7.0-18.fc41.src python-oslo-i18n-0:6.4.0-1.fc42.src python-oslo-utils-0:7.3.0-1.fc42.src python-reno-0:4.1.0-3.fc41.src python-shade-0:1.33.0-14.fc41.src python-taskflow-0:5.9.1-1.fc42.src python-testtools-0:2.7.1-7.fc41.src python-tosca-parser-0:2.9.1-5.fc41.src python-troveclient-0:8.6.0-1.fc42.src python3-cliff-tests-0:4.7.0-1.fc42.noarch python3-keystoneclient-tests-1:5.5.0-1.fc42.noarch python3-neutronclient-tests-0:11.3.1-1.fc42.noarch python3-oslo-log-tests-0:6.1.2-1.fc42.noarch python3-oslo-utils-tests-0:7.3.0-1.fc42.noarch subunit-0:1.4.4-4.fc41.src
