This doesn't do what you think it does. The point of Gamescope is to run within another desktop or system session as a nested compositor. It is supposed to be invoked by game launchers to spin up the game in the compositor nested inside of a desktop.

This stuff is only useful for being able to run something like Steam as a desktop session (like the Steam Deck), not for making it easier to use within an existing desktop.
