Since the anaconda port to Wayland, there's an odd issue with blivet-gui's filesystem list in anaconda when formatting a device. When we choose to format a partition and click the down arrow on "Select new format:", the list that appears ends with two empty entries, and the top of the list is not visible (there's an up arrow that can be used to scroll it). This did not happen before the Wayland port - the list had no empty entries and the whole list was immediately visible. This broke some openQA tests, which now need to work around the issue by scrolling the list so they can see the option they need.
Created attachment 2056058 [details] how it used to look on X.org (no empty entries, whole list visible)

We already saw some dropdown issues after switch to Wayland on RHEL a while ago - not sure if related though: https://issues.redhat.com/browse/RHEL-47037
This is most probably not anaconda. It might be wayland or something which needs change in blivet-gui...
This is just partially related to Wayland -- the two empty lines are shown every time when a combo box "hits" screen edge when opening. I can reproduce this with just a simple combo box outside blivet-gui on both X and Wayland on Fedora 40. What changed here is the dialog on Wayland is off center and moved closer to the top edge so when the combo box opens it now hits the top edge. Other dialogs and windows in Anaconda are off center as well so I don't think this is a blivet-gui specific problem.
This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora Linux 42 development cycle. Changing version to 42.
