Comment 14 Markus Nicolussi 2024-12-29 19:32:00 UTC
i have reorted many bugs - hope it helps. i'm afraid though, cuz i musta have had an error in my way of using and setting up my system with the DNF4 and later DNF5 package system, I might have produced a lot of useless errors? (back then i had many crashes of various SW every day.) cuz now that i reinstalled some packages i have hardly any error at all any more. i am still reporting of course, still hoping it helps. just wanted to let you know that i figure i'll be spamming less maybe now :-)

kindest regards,
Markus

Per its counterpart report at https://bugs.kde.org/show_bug.cgi?id=500038#c0:

> I searched for the "Switch User" menu entry because it isn't listed by default in Kicker's favourites section. When I selected it, a window appeared momentarily, before the shell crashed.
>
> Immediately, Dr Konqi appeared. 15s afterward, when it had restarted, I saw a notification that GNOME Abrt had caught it too, and I shall share the URI to its logs when they become available (it's slower to process them than Konqi is).

You're doing God's work by reporting all that you can. If they didn't want the reports, they wouldn't make Abrt so wonderfully simple to use.

> OS: Unspecified

Anyway, you might want to set the OS to Linux - for some reason, Abrt doesn't do so, and I've yet to report that deficiency of it myself.

Why on Earth are you still using YUM in 2025? That's two symlinks behind – we're at DNF5 now.

Comment 26 Adam Williamson 2025-12-02 01:34:48 UTC
This message is a reminder that Fedora Linux 41 is nearing its end of life.
Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora Linux 41 on 2025-12-15.
It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer
maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a
'version' of '41'.

Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you
plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, change the 'version'
to a later Fedora Linux version. Note that the version field may be hidden.
Click the "Show advanced fields" button if you do not see it.

Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not
able to fix it before Fedora Linux 41 is end of life. If you would still like
to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version
of Fedora Linux, you are encouraged to change the 'version' to a later version
prior to this bug being closed.

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=2325351#c15 continues to reproduce, for me.

Comment 28 Samyak Jain (RedHat) 2025-12-16 17:32:00 UTC
Fedora Linux 41 entered end-of-life (EOL) status on 2025-12-15.

Fedora Linux 41 is no longer maintained, which means that it
will not receive any further security or bug fix updates. As a result we
are closing this bug.

If you can reproduce this bug against a currently maintained version of Fedora Linux
please feel free to reopen this bug against that version. Note that the version
field may be hidden. Click the "Show advanced fields" button if you do not see
the version field.

If you are unable to reopen this bug, please file a new report against an
active release.

Thank you for reporting this bug and we are sorry it could not be fixed.

Comment 29 Mr. Beedell, Roke Julian Lockhart (RJLB) 2025-12-22 13:30:58 UTC
I continue to reproduce this. However, per https://discussion.fedoraproject.org/t/why-has-abrt-silently-ceased-to-enumerate-coredumpctls-entries/172903/3, can't submit it via Abrt (yet).
