Please branch and build cdrkit in epel10
The Fedora rawhide version builds with no modifications on epel10.

If you do not wish to maintain cdrkit in epel10,
or do not think you will be able to do this in a timely manner,
I would be happy to be a co-maintainer of the package (FAS tdawson);
please add me through https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/cdrkit/adduser

Ping - can we get cdrkit build in epel10?

Branch request: https://pagure.io/releng/fedora-scm-requests/issue/70666

BTW I see you have `admin` role already set in https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/cdrkit so you can build packages or create branches by yourself.

Comment 3 Pavel Cahyna 2024-12-06 14:15:08 UTC
Hello Troy, I added you, sorry for the delay.

By the way, what do you need it for? The software is IIRC abandoned upstream. Is there a use case that you are concerned about that is not covered by xorriso or cdrskin?

Comment 4 Troy Dawson 2024-12-06 14:53:56 UTC
We need genisoimage for k3b
But you are right, it's possible that we're still depending on it just because nobody has changed the dependencies.
I'll double check before I make the package.

Comment 5 Jiri Kucera 2024-12-06 15:22:57 UTC
`xorriso` should also provide `genisoimage` via alternatives as far as I know.

Comment 6 Fedora Update System 2024-12-13 15:38:38 UTC
FEDORA-EPEL-2024-0731a7b460 (cdrkit-1.1.11-57.el10_0 and k3b-24.08.3-1.el10_0) has been submitted as an update to Fedora EPEL 10.0.

Comment 7 Troy Dawson 2024-12-13 15:43:31 UTC
All the various testing and checking of k3b was going to take a while. (It also needed wodim)
I decided to build it in epel10 for now. If we manage to get k3b cleaned up, and nothing else in epel10 depends on it, I'll retire it from EPEL10.

Comment 8 Fedora Update System 2024-12-14 03:35:02 UTC
FEDORA-EPEL-2024-0731a7b460 has been pushed to the Fedora EPEL 10.0 testing repository.

icedax and k3b from this update fail to install due to missing dependencies.

Comment 10 Troy Dawson 2024-12-16 23:28:03 UTC
Thanks Carl, good catch.

I guess since brasero isn't in RHEL10, all those CD/DVD tools aren't in either.

I'll get them in.
Though while I am at it, I might see if I can update k3b to use the more modern libraries/tools.
