Description Troy Dawson 2024-11-25 20:48:54 UTC
Please branch and build gsl in epel10
The Fedora rawhide version builds with no modifications on epel10.

If you do not wish to maintain gsl in epel10,
or do not think you will be able to do this in a timely manner,
I would be happy to be a co-maintainer of the package (FAS tdawson);
please add me through https://src.fedoraproject.org/rpms/gsl/adduser

Reproducible: Always

Comment 1 Richard W.M. Jones 2024-11-25 20:58:45 UTC
EPEL 10 is now open?

I would have added you as co-maintainer, but apparently I don't have permissions
to do that ...

You don't even seem to be a gsl maintainer... would you like to be?

@tdawson I added you to the gsl maintainers.

It appears GSL has fallen behind upstream development; the current version is 2.8 but we only have 2.7.1 in rawhide.

Comment 3 Richard W.M. Jones 2024-11-26 14:35:47 UTC
I think I'm getting CC'd on this bug because I'm sponsoring someone. I'm
not especially keen to maintain more packages and I don't have any particular
connection to gsl, except that I maintain ocaml-gsl which is a bit tenuous.

Comment 4 Troy Dawson 2024-11-26 15:26:45 UTC
Thank you for adding me.
And to answer Richard's earlier question, yes, epel10 is happening. There are already over 3500 packages in it.
It hasn't been officially "released" yet, but I expect that to happen before the end of the year.
