I encountered an issue with the recent update to kernel 6.11.11-300.fc41.x86_64 on my system. After applying the update, my machine would hang during boot. To troubleshoot this issue, I attempted various workarounds: 1. Reboot: Immediately after updating, the system hung. 2. Boot using an older kernel version (6.11.7-300.fc41.x86_64): The system booted without any issues with the older kernel version. 3. Blacklist intel_ipu6 and update initramfs: Reboot and tried again with 6.11.11-300.fc41.x86_64: The system did not hang this time, suggesting that the issue might have been related to intel_ipu6. When machine has been booted with 6.11.11-300.fc41.x86_64 and blacklisted intel_ipu6 module, I tried to insert module. I also see the same issue with the 6.12.4 kernel from updates-testing
*** Bug 2332064 has been marked as a duplicate of this bug. ***
Thank you for reporting this. Unfortunately an incomplete backport of IPU6 DMA handling changes has landed in kernel 6.11.11. This not only causes IPU6 cameras to not work, this causes the kernel to (often?) crash on boot on systems where the IPU6 is in use and thus enabled by the BIOS. Kernels 6.12.2 - 6.12.4 are also affected by this. A fix for this is pending for the upcoming 6.12.5 release. 6.11.11 is the last stable release in the 6.11.y series, so there will be no new stable 6.11.y release with a fix. As a workaround users affected by this can stay with 6.11.10 or 6.12.1 until 6.12.5 is available in Fedora's updates(-testing) repository. Also see: https://hansdegoede.dreamwidth.org/29039.html
Thank you, will test 6.12.5 and provide feedback.

The latest 6.12.5 kernel available in Koji has resolved the issue, allowing the machine to boot successfully without any modifications. The webcam on this machine is still not functioning. If you'd like more details or have any questions about it, I'd be happy to share further information.

Please open a separate bug against component kernel for this, with as summary "IPU6 camera on $vendor-$model laptop not working" and please attach full "journalctl -b 0 -k" output while running 6.12.5. Then I will get back to you on this in the new bug. Note I might not get around to responding before Monday January 6th.
