Rawhide was upgraded, which included Xfce 4.20 packages. Upon a reboot, it resulted in an empty desktop, no icons, no Trash folder. Found a thread at the Arch Linux forums that xfdesktop 4.20.0-3 fixes this, but it also requires a specific package (libyaml) on the build host. https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=301899 Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1.Rawhide upgraded Xfce 4.18 to 4.20 2.Rebooted 3.Logged in to an empty desktop. Actual Results: Desktop contained no icons. Expected Results: Full desktop should have appeared.

When opening an application from either the menu or panel, it creates a temporary desktop icon, which disappears when the application is closed. The application .desktop files remain in the ~/Desktop folder.
