libblkio failed to build from source in Fedora rawhide/f42 https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=127997223 For details on the mass rebuild see: https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Fedora_42_Mass_Rebuild Please fix libblkio at your earliest convenience and set the bug's status to ASSIGNED when you start fixing it. If the bug remains in NEW state for 8 weeks, libblkio will be orphaned. Before branching of Fedora 43, libblkio will be retired, if it still fails to build. Looking into this...
virtio-bindings 0.2.4 is broken on i686. I have filed an issue: https://github.com/rust-vmm/vm-virtio/issues/326
I have posted a virtio-bindings pull request: https://github.com/rust-vmm/vm-virtio/pull/327 Depending on the reception of the pull request I'll either try to get a new release with the fix or patch it downstream.
I have requested a new virtio-bindings release from upstream: https://github.com/rust-vmm/vm-virtio/issues/328
virtio-bindings 0.2.5 has been released. Once the Fedora package becomes available libblkio should build successfully on rawhide i386 again.
Sergio Lopez has pushed rust-virtio-bindings 0.2.5 and the libblkio build is succeeding again now: https://koji.fedoraproject.org/koji/taskinfo?taskID=129180548
This bug appears to have been reported against 'rawhide' during the Fedora Linux 42 development cycle. Changing version to 42.
This message is a reminder that Fedora Linux 42 is nearing its end of life. Fedora will stop maintaining and issuing updates for Fedora Linux 42 on 2026-05-13. It is Fedora's policy to close all bug reports from releases that are no longer maintained. At that time this bug will be closed as EOL if it remains open with a 'version' of '42'. Package Maintainer: If you wish for this bug to remain open because you plan to fix it in a currently maintained version, change the 'version' to a later Fedora Linux version. Note that the version field may be hidden. Click the "Show advanced fields" button if you do not see it. Thank you for reporting this issue and we are sorry that we were not able to fix it before Fedora Linux 42 is end of life. If you would still like to see this bug fixed and are able to reproduce it against a later version of Fedora Linux, you are encouraged to change the 'version' to a later version prior to this bug being closed.
